Our Team

Penryn & Falmouth Funeral Directors are a local, privately-owned business, and at some point you will probably meet or speak to most of our team. Caring and genuinely interested in the whole family, we take great personal pride in the service that we provide, and this is reflected in all the individual elements of the funeral arrangements that we undertake on your behalf.

Robin Hattswell-Burt and Roy Sanders are our funeral directors, and at some point you and the family will meet with one of them. Drawing on years of experience, they will be able to guide you through the choices available to you, and will relieve you of many of the administrative things necessary in making the funeral arrangements for both religious and secular services.

We love to hear a little bit about you all, to hear some stories, and hopefully to help you smile about the happy times you shared with them, as it helps us to build a picture up of the loved one in our care, as it helps us to make things as personal as we possibly can. You might like to know a little bit about us, too.

Robin Hattswell-burt

Robin really cares about making sure that funeral services are just what the family wants, and originally became a funeral director by invitation many years ago before going on to establish Penryn and Falmouth Funeral Directors. He is a passionate carriage master, and in his spare time can be found at the wheel of one of his beloved classic cars enjoying a trip out in the Cornish countryside.

Roy sanders

Roy took up his role within the funeral business in 2005, having spent 34 years in the banking industry. He believes in total quality customer service. He is caring, empathetic, and approachable. Roy lives in Penryn with his wife Penny, and is a family man at heart. He is also secretary of his local bowling club. Other interests, when time allows, are fishing, the countryside, and travel.

Linda Clay joined the company at the end of January 2017 after 28 years with Santander as a customer service manager. She is empathetic and caring and gives good customer service. She is the receptionist and organises the donations. In her spare time she sings in two bands, one community based and the other a charity band, and walks her dog. Linda is a local girl who loves to help people.

Lawson Timmins is a key member of our team, and will probably be one of the first members of our team that you will meet. Lawson has close contact with the family, often visiting your home when needed. He also looks after our fleet of cars, lovingly polishing and cleaning them, and will more than likely be one of the drivers on the day of the funeral.

Rita is one of the friendly faces on the team, and is often found at churches and chapels putting families at ease at the funeral service, and helping them through the day. She has sailed thousands of miles around the world, but having suffered so much sickness she now prefers to spend time with the dogs and horses on the farm. Rita is married to Robin.

Here for you, any time you need us

We know that the passing of a loved one can be a very sad and daunting time. We are all here to help you as much as you need, providing a professional and caring service by qualified staff who are available 24 hours a day. We treat all enquiries and client information in the strictest confidence and with complete discretion.

We are able to advise on all legal formalities. These might include how to register the death, what happens when HM Coroner is involved, burial and cremation laws, as well as other less usual things. We can talk you through what happens at an inquest, when a death occurs away from home, or when international repatriation is needed.

Whilst making the arrangements we will liaise with the relevant authorities and third parties, with clergy and officiants, crematoria, doctors, cemeteries, newspapers and hotels on your behalf. We will be there to carry the administrative burden so that you can concentrate on the things that matter most to you.

A very sincere thank you for the excellent service you have recently provided for [the family]. Your help, care and consideration at such a painful time has been much appreciated.
